In light of the new "No Tech" event, I will release some of the tips I have used to run respectable rounds without having any alliances or market usage.

1. You are unburdened by the requirement to research in 4's. This is a huge help in focusing your research when you are reaching caps.

2. When your population is declining because of oil and food, but you want to push higher, buy some from the market before using some turns. Often this will help you to get more land.

3. As a regular user, sometimes you may want to disband a small amount of your standing military after your push for land is finished, since you will be unable to put your military on the market during turn usage. This will reduce oil and food consumption when you push for population. Important to note: if you have NO military, you are wide open to attack.

4. As a regular user, you will want to avoid Offense and Defense spending until you have over $10k per turn income, otherwise your income may drop to levels that you can't recover from.

5. Pushing for land at the beginning is a good idea, but if you stretch yourself out too thin, you leave yourself vulnerable to attack. If you get too land fat, you will be worth more land per turn than exploring, so be careful.

6. At the very beginning of the round, fluctuating your tax rate can have great benefits depending on if you want population or income.
