Hey everyone,
I've decided that this will be the final year that D.E.M.O.N. will induct new members.
The community has dwindled far too much to continue adding people to an elite list when there isn't any competition.
That being said, this year I'm opening nominations up to everyone in the community. Just post here with a list of people you think should be inducted. You can list any number of people, but put them in the order you think they deserve it. On September 1st I will tally all the nominations and announce 5 inductions (rather than the normal 3).

Indeed this game has definitely dwindled down. Honestly for me there is no competitive drive. Its dull with people leaving left and right. What keeps me around is getting on the record books and thats how pathetic it actually is. Theres no wars and when there is I feel like I war the same people. Back when there was actually a community I would be more driven to actually not miss turns and rank well and dammit if there was a war I would be checking my nations every hour or moment I could. Now its like I dont care if I miss two hours of turns. Like when AK started snow balling some wins he was driven to pull towards the top. When there was 7 n 8 competitive clans you wanted to strive to make your clan the best, recruiting and what not. I haven't tried recruiting anyone in a LONG time. Theres just no competition edge I feel. Hell I am ranked 35th now and have missed the most turns I ever have since being here. Back in the day I wouldn't even be ranked now. This round ill finally move into 10th on the most ranked list. Something ive been striving for since cronus left. Sad to say thats what has kept me here and now that it is completed im hoping to find some motivation to stick around.
I havn't really been involved in the game recently to make some valid nominations. Im gonna look at some players who are not in demon, look at some stats and what i remember of the players (character/attitude/loyalty/gameplay). Just some of the things I feel a demon member should share.
Although the list wont matter much at all sooner or later (most likely sooner). My two ¢

A few problems with this.
1. Demon has only allowed demon members to vote on initiates in the past. So this year is a farce.
2. The only person worth nominating is jing, no offence but jing is the last player outside of demon to be worthy of being in it.
3. There are more people in demon then there are people playing nations. So how are they elite?
4. Demon is just like the commies a fan club or another type of clan, that is in no way elite or special aside from pr time needed to join.
5. I'd think demon would be worthwhile if kept to 10-15 members who are the all time best at what they did and if they came back they would still be great.
I.e Loki, AK, Jing, Cody, Highwind. Those are/would be the only people I'd want in Demon. By what I think demon should be I don't make the cut, but maybe I'm an old grump, but this is a joke Danny.
Call this off or do it how it should be done and allow demon to maintain some dignity. | |

Well its simple. The players in Demon are the "elite players" from their era. Since the game has diminished we simply gotta elect fewer demon inductees each time and further apart each time. As far as players now, yea they might be elite now but the oldies like me think "well would they have been that good back in the day." well theres no answer to that so you simply have to go with the present day evidence.
So perhaps two are elected every year? 6 months? Who cares really how big the list is. A lot of worthy players should be on it whether its because they ranked top 10 90% of the time for 3 years or simply because they gave a lot to the community over the "years". | |

i would just like to say that Dannyfo's current list has 42 DEMON members. I DONT believe that is alot of members for a site that has lasted well over 10 yrs and has had an estimated 1000 members.
I was around for the following people and witnessed their influence to both Nations and the community to whom played the game. I believe their mention as memebers of "Diligent Elite Members Of Nations" aka DEMON is well-deserved.
Battlecruiser- 2nd most wins in Nations history, developed low-land teching, and a mod.
Chinaman- founder of Dynasty and the first to lead a clan of over 100 memebers at once.
DannyFO- Soulslayer clan member and one of three founders of True X. Also creator of the DEMON society.
Gi_joe- Founder of Avengers clan and one of the greatest overall human beings to ever grace Netnexus.
Korgrath- Leader of Inner Circle since before I was born and longtime mod of Nations.
Loki- Leader of True X and founder of Gate Keepers. Former mod of Nations.
ShadyKnight- Current mod of Nations, founder of Nexus training clan, and leader of True X.
Stormbringer- Founder of the Chattan clan and one of the longest active players around.
Tarsonis21- Admin who greatly changed the face of Nations and Netnexus.
WeaponX- Founder of Devils Knights clan, current mod and longtime player.
Goliath- Founder of Liquid Endeavor clan and member of Soulslayers clan. Uncovered the first style of techie (so I heard).

I think HEHE is one of the best players, 72 ranked rounds & counting, and he has done it all as a user, without much support. Just because he is not spamming the boards or chat rooms, does not make him one of the best. If he would of moved to an active clan i am sure he would have 3-5 wins by now. I have been around a long time, & HEHE is the real deal.

Chinaman = a good leader for the first 5 years.
Justice--League was the first clan over 100 members, Dynasty was second. Chiny(sam) was never in it at the time.
I can tell you alot of demon members rarely played nations. And that DEMON is a pathetic way of making this game some popularity contest.
I gave up on it.
The day i was inducted then rudely taken out. meh let the site die...

I agree with Ayanami. We should have such titles voted after each round. It would make the game slightly more exciting.

And so, in no particular order...
Moonshine: The creator of UA, the leader of SM, and one of the best player that is still around. I rather not go too deep into him so this won't become a five page essay.
Hehe: If netnexus had a dictionary, then under the word loyalty would be Hehe's picture (figuratively speaking of course). Heck of a guy to stick by his clan even when most of them are inactive. From the time I've spent in Hoieri, I say he's also a pretty down-to-earth player.
Warbeast: For literally declaring war on everyone and just being a pain in the ass. Even though he's about as dangerous as five-year old, and just as annoying, we all love teasing him. Whether you'd like to admit it or not, he made the game interesting. That is why he is the only player with a fan club!
Sal: With his 1 land tactic (Or Pic's, depending who you talk to), he was once considered the best player of his time, whose only competition was Pic. After building a solid reputation, he created Nirvana and gathered most of the players into his new clan, which at it's peak, was around 50 members. For three rounds, he warred like a beast, and inspired me to create the 50 land tactic. He also taught me the basics when I don't have a clue how much I sucked. Though his ego is about as big as his bosom, I say he deserve being on the list.

AK47, it seems that legend has crept in with fact, at least in my case. ;)
I was *one* of the founding members of LE, and I was never a member of Soulslayers at all. My first clan was the Illegitimate Alliance (IA), which later basically became LE.
I can't claim credit for developing the "first" tech strategy--I think Thebest was on that a little before I came along--but I did develop an advanced tech method that built upon the existing knowledge of the time, which IA and LE both used to spectacular effect.

1.Moony - Long time leader of sM. One Win. 56 ranked rounds. Dude is family.
2.Jing - Community clown. All around a good player. One win and seven top 5's is pretty impressive. Someone I liked in sM.
3.Jebstuart - Competitive. Always tough in wars. Long time member of 7th Calvary back in the day. Had some good battles with him over the years.
Walt disney has been around forever although he lacks a win and high rankings. He was a tank when in Vikings though back in the day.

Pic..... was an awesome player and even better person. I learned a lot from him. My partner in creating UA and he racked up some wins.
Jing.... has just been around forever. Always in the chat and forums. Not even talking about his nations game. Hes an elite player. Someone everyone should want in their clan. Jing is an automatic inductee. ;)
Bmxbrigade.... Bmx is someone who probably wont get in DEMON but i feel he should. He was an excellent player and was always INVOLVED in the game. Scoping out things going on and whatnot. When shinji n Vodka left and Toast and shinryo were MIA bmx helped me out with sM. He was loyal, elite, and experienced as hes been here a long long time. 2 wins and a crap ton of top tens.
Hehe ... This is easy. Leader of Hoieri since ive been here so thats saying a lot. Always ranking towards the top and the number of rankings says it all.
Myself ... probably an ignorant move in most eyes but i said it anyways. Ive been here for 6 years and have missed one round. Ive taught people, ive tried getting people to play this game, and ive never harassed anyone here. (from what i remember)
Being in DEMON would be an honor only because I feel like ive been here for sooo long. When I first got here I remember wanting to be in DEMON one day. But i kno after this its over, and quite frankly it really just wont matter. :/

Thunderbolt: Although most of you won't remember him cuz he has been away for a long time, he was one of the founders of Avengers and one of the best leaders that i have played with.
Pic: One of the best players and won several rounds.
Hehe: One of the most consistent players in nations and founder of Hoieri.
Bmxbrigade: Very solid and good player. Has played in many clans and is loyalty is admirable.
Sal: Same as Pic, was one of the best players and top winners. I'm not sure but i think he also made a guide for nations.
